{Mixed Media Tutorial} Fun with Distress Inks and Perfect Pearls By Amy

Good afternoon everyone, Amy here, with a little  tag for y'all using Distress Inks and Perfect Pearls along with NEW ARTplorations Curve Play stencil and one of my favorite STAMPlorations Stamp Sets; Trendy Feathers 2.
I started with a tag cut from coldpress Watercolor paper and taped down the Curve Play stencil. I then used blending tools to apply Distress Inks (Mermaid Lagoon and Picked Raspberry used here) thru the stencil.

Now for the fun part- Remove the stencil and brush on some Perfect Pearls (Biscotti used here) across the whole tag. As the Distress Ink is still wet, it will adhere to the Distress Inks. Use a clean brush or Swiffer cloth to remove the excess and voila you have a background that looks like faux metals with dimension and shimmer. :o)

Next, stamp the feathers from the Trendy Feathers 2 set onto Design Paper (Prima Watercolor effects, used here) with similar colors to the Distress Inks you used.

Fussy cut your feather's out.

Assemble your tag- I used Washi Tape to break up the background and "ground" the feathers. I added a few dimensional dots to the top feathers as well.

To finish, I added a Sentiment from the Trendy Feathers 2 set in Jet Black Archival Ink and a button/twine from my stash in the color scheme.

And there we have a pretty yet quick and easy tag.

I sure hope I’ve inspired you to get crafty today and hope you’ll join me again next time.
